What Does “Original Equivalent” Mean at OE Motors?

At OE Motors, “O.E.” stands for Original Equivalent.

We use and install both Original Equipment (OE) parts and Original Equivalent parts, so you can choose the balance of quality and price that works for you.

Our goal is simple: use the part your vehicle's manufacturer recommends, at the best value we can offer. Often, we can source the same or equivalent products through distributors other than the manufacturer's dealership network, which lets us pass significant savings on to you.

Spark plugs and ignition coils are a good example. Bosch and Delphi supply components used by several European manufacturers. When a manufacturer recommends a Bosch or Delphi part for your vehicle, we can often get that same product through an independent distributor instead of buying it from the dealership.

That's what Original Equivalent means: a quality part that meets the manufacturer's specifications and recommendations, without the dealership markup.

We believe you should have options. Depending on your vehicle and the repair, we'll walk you through both Original Equipment and Original Equivalent parts and explain the differences in quality, fitment, warranty, and price.

Have questions? Ask one of our Service Advisors. They can tell you what’s available for your vehicle and whether a specific part is an Original Equivalent to what the manufacturer recommends.
